DJ Phat AL is a professional Disc Jockey and multimedia production artist. Starting with just a hobby and love at the early age of 12, DJ Phat AL was intrigued by the DJ's in the early and crucial birth years of Hip Hop & breakdancing in the 1980's. Having three older brothers each with a different musical taste also helped to influence his broad and open mind to many genres of music. Driven by curiosity and the love of music while living in the small town north of Houston, Texas called "Conroe," DJ Phat AL taught himself how to mix, scratch, and program music for what would become his lifelong passion.
Working professionally in nightclubs since 1994, DJ Phat AL has been all over the Houston Nightclub scene. His show was broadcasted live on the radio from two different nightclubs spanning over three years in the Houston market. While holding residencies in nightclubs in Houston, he has also performed several guest spots in nightclubs & radio spots around Houston, San Antonio & Austin, Texas.
DJ Phat AL has been programming video content in nightclubs since 1999. Fueling the passion to explore new ways to entertain he began to edit and remix video work with audio remixes and hit songs. At first he was using traditional DVD players to play the content which limits the artistic abilities of a performing DJ. Eventually technology caught up and he has used the Pioneer DVJ's (first DVD DJ turntable), Virtual DJ (one of the first software based video DJ systems) and now with Serato Scratch Live Video. With the experience of remixing videos DJ Phat AL has his content available to other professional working DJ's through popular services like Crooklyn Clan, SmashVidz and Screenplay.
Currently residing in Las Vegas, DJ Phat AL can be seen showcasing his show at some of the hottest nightclubs and lounges in town. DJ Phat AL has joined up with DefTal (Definitive Talents), a local DJ crew of other elite DJ's who mix video and audio alike. DJ Phat AL is also holding residencies in clubs in Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Houston.
